

Karl Slovin
President,

Karl Slovin is responsible for directing all business activities for MWest Holdings. One of the three initial equity investors in MWest Holdings, he assumed control of the company’s day-to-day operations in 2003. As president, Mr. Slovin oversees acquisitions, dispositions, asset management, financing, leasing, and legal matters. Mr. Slovin is a member of Business Leaders Task Force for Homelessness, a groundbreaking partnership of United Way of Greater Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce working to end chronic and veteran homelessness across the city. A graduate of Wesleyan University with high honors, he lives in Los Angeles with his wife and their three children.

Matthew Ellis
Chief Investment Officer,

Matthew Ellis oversees the acquisition and capital markets group at MWest Holdings, where he is responsible for the management of the company's investment portfolio. Matthew has been with MWest since 2009; his experience in structured finance, originating over $5 billion in first-mortgage, bridge, mezzanine, preferred-equity, and equity solutions, has been of tremendous benefit to MWest Holdings. Ellis holds a master’s degree in economics and finance from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. His insight, direction, and leadership in acquisitions, dispositions, and financing have enabled MWest to complete transactions that maintain the integrity of its mission.


Vlady Sheynin
Vice President and Director of Asset Management,
MWest Holdings
Vlady Sheynin is responsible for profit maximization of the firm’s portfolio, investor relations, business plan execution, construction, and legal compliance and has been with MWest since 2014. Vlady’s broad experience in operations management, ground-up development, and asset management spans more than 20 years, and provides the necessary analysis, strategy, and oversight to enable the achievement of our business objectives. He attended the University of Southern California, where he majored in finance and real-estate development.


Kyung Jin Lee
Controller,
MWest Holdings
KJ Lee oversees the accounting practices, principles, procedures, and initiatives for MWest Holdings, including Yardi and SOC compliance, and has been with MWest since 2016. KJ brings a vast amount of knowledge to MWest, with 13 years of work experience in the real estate investment and management industry. This experience, coupled with her audit management role at Deloitte, has allowed KJ to be the catalyst for many significant process improvements and build a highly skilled accounting support team. She received a bachelor’s degree in business economics with a minor in accounting from UCLA.


Jackie Ocampo
Director of Property Management,
Polaris Property Management
Mrs. Ocampo is responsible for overseeing the operation of MWest’s multifamily portfolio across Southern California. She plays a chief role in helping position Polaris Property Management as a premier property management firm and leader in LA’s multifamily housing industry. Mrs. Ocampo has over ten years experience in the multifamily industry and is a licensed real-estate agent. Prior to joining MWest, she spent six years as a multi-site manager assisting in administrative operations and accounts receivable for 2,200 units.


Jerry Diaz
Head of Maintenance,
Polaris Property Management
Jerry Diaz manages the maintenance, unit upgrades, and elevator contracts and upgrades for MWest Holdings' owned and Polaris-managed portfolio across Southern California. Jerry has been with MWest since 2016, and brings extensive experience in new multi-family home developments, from off-site work to managing and sustaining HOA (Homeowner Associations) relationships, providing exceptional depth to his position.


Brian Toqe
Senior Asset Manager,
MWest Holdings
Brian Toqe is responsible for creating and implementing real estate strategies in operations, design, construction, and reporting and has been with MWest since 2019. He currently oversees a portfolio of multifamily, retail, and office assets for MWest Holdings. Mr. Toqe brings over 10 years of experience in institutional ownership, value-added repositioning, ground-up design, and preconstruction, as well as prior experience in acquisitions. In recent years, he has been directly responsible for the asset management, design, and construction of portfolios valued at over $4B with owners such as Carmel Partners, TruAmerica, Kennedy Wilson, and American Realty Advisors. Brian is a graduate of The Master’s University, a liberal arts college, where he studied finance, and he holds a post-graduate certificate in finance from the University of San Francisco. He is a California CPA and formerly worked for Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen in their real estate groups.


Debra Haro
Regional Manager,
Polaris Property Management
Debra Haro is responsible for managing operations for a dedicated portfolio of MWest's multifamily assets in California. She has been with MWest since 2016 and has over ten years of experience in the multifamily industry. Prior to joining Polaris, she spent six years managing large, multi-site apartment communities for Laramar Group.


Samuel Kuiumdjian
Acquisitions Associate,
MWest Holdings
Samuel Kuiumdjian is responsible for deal sourcing, acquisition underwriting, due-diligence coordination, and investment reporting, and has been with MWest since 2015. Mr. Kuiumdjian graduated from the University of Southern California in 2015, receiving a bachelor’s of science degree in policy, planning, and development with an emphasis in real estate development and a minor in real estate finance. Mr. Kuiumdjian previously worked at Rosano Partners as a research analyst, where he created investment marketing packages, focusing mainly on financial analysis.


Pietro Rovelli
Senior Construction Project Manager,
Polaris Property Management
Pietro Rovelli is responsible for managing ongoing construction projects and creating supply chains for MWest Holdings’ owned and managed multifamily portfolio. Prior to joining Polaris in 2018, he previously worked as an architect for Pica + Sullivan in Los Angeles and was a real estate analyst at FedEx in their Amsterdam headquarters. Mr. Rovelli received his bachelor’s degree in architecture from the Polytechnic of Milan in Italy and his master’s degree in real estate from Delft University in the Netherlands.


Poorva Garg
Construction Project Manager,
Polaris Property Management
Poorva Garg is responsible for managing various capital projects for Polaris, including entitlements, design, and construction management and has been with MWest since 2019. Prior to joining Polaris, she worked as an architect at Jamison Properties LP and MAKE Architecture, focusing on mixed-use and multi-family projects. Ms. Garg received her bachelor’s degree in architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc).


Kyle Kokkales
Marketing Manager,
Polaris Property Management
Kyle Kokkales leads all facets of marketing for Polaris Property Management and has been with MWest since 2017. Prior to joining Polaris, he worked as Marketing Strategy Manager at Cottage Inn Management, developing growth strategies for a 50+ unit franchise chain. Mr. Kokkales received his bachelor's degree in marketing from Western Michigan University.


Hannah Lipman
Human Resources Representative,
MWest Holdings
Hannah Lipman is responsible for benefits administration, payroll, recruitment, and other aspects of human resources for MWest. She joined MWest in March 2013 after graduating from California State University, Northridge, where she received a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Ms. Lipman holds a certificate in human-resource management from UCLA Extension.


Lydie Lyons
Executive Assistant/Office Manager,
MWest Holdings
Lydie Lyons provides administrative support to the President of MWest Holdings and the executive team. She has been with MWest since 2018, and handles meeting and travel arrangements, calendaring, budgeting, reporting, and much more. She is also responsible for all staff and office management activities. Mrs. Lyons came to MWest with an extensive background in the executive support field and has worked for multiple executives from international firms over the past 18 years.


Kevin Ngo
Asset Management Analyst,

Kevin Ngo is responsible for providing financial reporting and ensuring adherence to compliance guidelines for MWest Holdings’ portfolio. Prior to joining MWest in 2019, Mr. Ngo served as an analyst at City National Bank, focusing on real estate lending for ground-up multifamily construction. Mr. Ngo received his bachelor of arts degree in economics from UCLA.


Victor Guardado
Area Maintenance Supervisor, Polaris Property Management
Victor Guardado is responsible for overseeing and supervising all maintenance staff in MWest's Los Angeles portfolio. Victor has been with MWest since 2013 and has over ten years of experience in the multifamily industry. Prior to joining MWest, he spent six years at IMT Residential focused on maintenance, new construction, and property management.


Raiven Gibbs
Commercial Property Manager, Polaris Property Management
Raiven Gibbs has been with Polaris since 2015 and is responsible for managing day-to-day operations at 13949 Ventura Blvd - the home of MWest Holdings headquarters. Ms. Gibbs also manages operations at two residential properties within the MWest multifamily portfolio. Prior to joining Polaris, Ms. Gibbs was previously a property manager for Laramar Group.


Tara Mulligan
Administrative Assistant, Polaris Property Management
Tara Mulligan provides administrative support to the Polaris Property Management team. Prior to joining MWest, she served as Senior Administrative Assistant for Ballet Arizona, where she supported their executive team and managed merchandise sales. Ms. Mulligan received her bachelor's degree in Arts Administration from Arizona State University.
